Soaking for extended periods of time at too high a temperature can elevate the body temperature and the temperature of the internal organs past safety limits. Never use a spa after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness, or raise or lower blood pressure.
  • With any drug or medication, consult your doctor about the potential harmful effects from combined drug use and hot water soaking.

  • My personal favorite is when the night temps are 50-60 degrees. It’s also nice to gaze up at the stars at night while soaking. Can you find the Big Dipper?

How hot can I have the water in a spa?

  • Water temperature should not exceed 102-104 degrees F. Most people like to have the water temperature between 100-102 degrees. The cooler the water, the longer you can stay in. Higher temperatures may place a strain on the cardio-vascular system. Soaking too long can make people light headed or faint. Never soak for more than 15-20 minutes per spa visit or if you feel very hot. Leave the spa; cool your body temperature down then slowly return for another usage. Our spas are designed to shut off if the temperature reaches 104 degrees. All you need to do is add some water to cool it down.
