The following will help ensure you and your family has a safe spa experience.

Children should be supervised by an adult at all times while using the spa. EXTREME CAUTON must be exercised to prevent unauthorized access by unsupervised children. Never allow children to use the spa unsupervised. If children will be using the spa, explain to them that they cannot, under any circumstances, dive or jump into the spa. While a spa may seem large and deep to a child, it is not designed for jumping or diving. Discretion is advised in allowing children to use spas at all, since their young bodies may not adjust well to the high temperatures.

Alcoholic beverages or drugs should not be consumed while using the spa. BE AWARE that the use of alcoholic beverages or drugs before or during spa use may lead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning, heart attack, or injury due to passing out or falling.

Persons taking medications and those with physical ailments, including heart or blood pressure problems, diabetes, serious illness, and pregnant women should see the advice of their doctor before using the spa. Soaking for extended periods of time at too high a temperature can elevate the body temperature and the temperature of the internal organs past safety limits. Never use a spa after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness, or raise or lower blood pressure. With any drug or medication, consult your doctor about the potential harmful effects from combined drug use and hot water soaking.

Persons with skin, ear, genital, or other body infections should not enter the spa because of the possibility of spreading the infection.

Food and drinks should be located away from the spa. Use only unbreakable containers and utensils. Never use glass anywhere near the spa. Broken glass is dangerous to bare feet and extremely difficult to get out of the filtering system.

Water is an excellent conductor of electricity. Electrical shock or electrocution can occur in a spa if live electrical current (including current from a telephone) comes into contact with the water. If your spa is outdoors, stay out of it during lightening or rainstorms because of the possibility of electrocution from lightening hitting the water.

Do not permit any electrical appliance (such as a light, telephone, radio or television) within five (5) feet of the spa.

Placing mats or carpets around the spa once it is in the position will help prevent slips and fails due to wet surfaces.

To keep the water clean of sand, dirt grass, leaves, etc., put a bucket of water by the spa for people to rinse their feet in.

Watch for steps in the spa that may be submersed. If provided, handrails should be used.

Water temperature should not exceed 102-104 degrees F. The cooler the water, the longer you can stay in. Higher temperatures may place a strain on the cardio-vascular system. Soaking too long can make people light headed or faint. Never soak for more than 15-20 minutes per spa visit. Leave the spa; cool your body temperature down then slowly return for another usage.
